Thinking of Life

While visiting a cemetey to photograph a headstone for someone on www.findagrave.com I decided to sit under a tree and do some thinking.  What really struck me was here I was wandering through a cemetery looking for a headstone yet I don’t take the time to visit relatives that live close by and I haven’t seen them in quite some time.  Seems like I have little excuse.

And then I started to wonder why do I spend anytime in a place where I will eventually be spending a lot of time?  It is quite the quandry because I have taken some interesting photos in cemeteries and I do find that it is very peaceful (for obvious reasons) and not a bad place to think.

Starting a New Life

I know it has been a while since I last posted to this blog, and I thought I might start back with an introduction.  My youngest son and his new wife on their wedding day.

Crazy Love

This photo reminds me of a song called Crazy Love by Aaron Neville.  I love this song!  When I look at some photos or certain scenes in movies I think of this song.  It always makes me think of the wonderful love that can be had between a man and a woman who truly have the other person’s best interests in mind.  You must be selfless.

One of the shows that I watch regularly is “House.”  I love this show.  In this season’s finale Wilson is shown laying in a hospital bed with Amber – just being with her during her final moments and letting her know that she is indeed loved and she will indeed be remembered.  It brought tears to my eyes.

As a man this is my dream for a relationship – will I ever attain it – I don’t know, but I sure wish that I could.

Age of Innocence…

How often do you spend thinking back to your childhood?  I find myself thinking back to a time when all I really worried about was having fun with my neighborhood friends, and doing chores.  Outside playing until the streetlights came on – for that was when most parents said it was time to come home, and it was safe!

I also remember a time when a child got out of line that parents in the neighborhood had no problem letting my Dad know and he took them at their word and I was properly disciplined – and believe it or not rightfully so.

Where have these times gone?

It’s a Dog’s Life!

Posted in Photography with tags , , , on April 25, 2008 by Chris Grant

It truly is a dog’s life!  Life is what you make it.  Do you work to live or live to work?  I for one believe in working to live, and using my spare time to do the things that I enjoy.  Especially now that my kids are grown and do not require the kind of attention that small ones do.

The above photo was taken at my sister’s place while spending some time outside enjoying her new puppies, and of course using the opportunity to capture some fun pictures.

It is my hope to add something to your life as well as sharing part of mine.
